La Condition Publique, a creative hub
Once a textile-testing hall, La Condition Publique is now a space for exhibitions, artistic residencies and concerts, at the heart of the Pile district. People come for an installation, a screening or an open-air dinner under the glass roof, and leave with a head full of ideas. An ideal date for lovers of creative atmospheres.
La Manufacture, memory of the thread
In the Épeule district, La Manufacture tells the story of weaving on still-working looms. Demonstrations, guided tours and exhibitions turn this living museum into an original outing for understanding Roubaix. The old chimneys and cobbled courtyards around Rue de l’Alma set a scene full of character, perfect to keep the conversation going.
Vélodrome and student scene
Roubaix’s vélodrome, famous finish of Paris–Roubaix, also hosts concerts and events. With nearby art schools and campuses, the town shows off a youth that loves to gather in cafés on Boulevard Beaurepaire. On Lyad, Roubaix members swap tips on upcoming festivals and shows, and many dream of going there as a pair.
